CoverTex buys pizza delivery-bag maker AcuTemp

DAYTON, Ohio — AcuTemp, a manufacturer of insulation and mobile thermal management products, announced the sale of its food delivery business to CoverTex Corp. in Brampton, Ontario.
According to a news release, the sale includes all the assets of the AcuTemp pizza oven and disc delivery system, which now will be manufactured, marketed and serviced by CoverTex.
Additionally, CoverTex will introduce a new line of VAC-PAC THERM-O-POUCH insulated hot bags for pizza and other meal delivery services. The new bags use AcuTemp's ThermoCor insulation.
"The sale of the food delivery business is consistent with our strategy, namely to focus the company's growth efforts on its line of products for the storage and transport of temperature sensitive goods in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology markets," said Mike Mathile, president and chief executive of AcuTemp. "CoverTex has a great tradition of serving the food-delivery industry. Their acquisition of the business was a natural fit in continuing to provide our many food delivery customers with quality products and service."
