MINNEAPOLIS — SimonDelivers Inc., an online, home-delivery grocer, has partnered with 21-unit Davanni's Pizza & Hot Hoagies to bring take-and-bake pizzas to metro Minneapolis-St. Paul residents.
According to a news release, the Davanni's Chicago-style deep-dish take-and-bake pizza was specifically designed and packaged for SimonDelivers. Each pie (current selection includes cheese, pepperoni and sausage) weighs 2 pounds and is an ideal fit for SimonDelivers' refrigerated totes.
"When SimonDelivers approached us about developing a take-and-bake pizza for their business, we were very excited," said Tim Huberty, director of marketing for Davanni's. "Our award winning-pizza has been primed for this opportunity, and judging by the initial sales, so has the marketplace."
SimonDelivers customers can place orders online by 11 p.m., six days a week, and receive their pizzas the following day. The company services a 3,200-square-mile delivery area from a single distribution center.
