Buddy's Pizza raised money for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen during its annual Slice for Life event on April 29, according to a Detroit Free Press report.
The Detroit-style pizza chain donated 20% of its dine-in and carryout sales to the nonprofit and held an auction for a chance to own one of its iconic square pizza pans.
Buddy's partnership with the Capuchin Soup Kitchen stretches back to 1976, beginning at the restaurant's original location at Six Mile and Conant in Detroit. Over the years, Buddy's has donated more than $4 million to support the Capuchin's programs. Last year's Slice for Life event raised nearly $100,000.
