Cincinnati-based Dewey's Pizza raised $25,000 from its annual "Run to Raise Dough" 5K. The money benefits the Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and 1N5. This year's donation went specifically to focus on suicide prevention, according to a press release.
More than 250 runners participated, with more than 30 community volunteers and 60 local sponsors.
"We are celebrating our 25th anniversary this year, and we are so proud to have the privilege of hosting our fourth Run to Raise Dough. This year we focused on mental health by adding 1N5, alongside Cincinnati Children's as our benefactor," Chuck Lipp, president of Dewey's Pizza, said in the release.
Dewey's has previously supported Cincinnati Children's Center for Autoimmune Liver Disease since the inception of the 'Run to Raise Dough' 5K in 2018. The shift to mental health in 2023 was a direct request from Dewey's team members, who feel passionately about promoting mental health and wellness in the hospitality community.
Dewey's Pizza has raised $162,000 for the community through its 5K race.
