Di Fara slices now $5

The price for a slice of cheese pizza at legendary Brooklyn pizzeriaDi Farais now $5,according to a storyin the New York Times (registration required). Plain round pies now start at $25 and specialty square pies start at $35.
Despite the price hike, crowds still line up for Di Fara's pizza. Proprietor Domenico DeMarco uses only imported ingredients and makes all of the pizzas himself.
DeMarco's daughter Margaret Mieles said a number of factors went into the decision to raise prices, including the fact that DeMarco has been more generous with ingredients lately. Also, the city has raised its sales tax recently, and the tax is included in the price at Di Fara.
