Domino's Pizza's is partnering with the National Fire Protection Association and Sparky the Fire Dog for the seventh consecutive year to promote Fire Prevention Week. From Oct. 5-11, participating markets throughout the US will feature this year's theme – "Working Smoke Alarms Save Lives: Test Yours Every Month" – on top of pizza boxes.
According to a news release, the fliers on pizza boxes will include statistics on smoke alarms, installation tips and will encourage customers to test their smoke alarms every month.
In addition, customers who order from participating Domino's stores throughout the US in October may have their pizza delivered by a fire engine. Firefighters will then check smoke alarms and, if they're all working, the pizza order will be free. If they're not working, they will ensure a fully-functioning device for the customers.
"Engaging activities are among the best ways to educate and influence people about fire safety," Lorraine Carli, NFPA's VP of outreach and advocacy, said in the release. "Teaming up with Domino's Pizza presents an ideal opportunity to reinforce the importance of working smoke alarms in a way that's fun and exciting for everyone involved."
