Domino's enters ''chicken fight' with own boneless appetizer

August 18, 2002

ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Domino's Pizza will introduce a Buffalo Chicken Kickers appetizer on Aug. 26 -- on the very same day Papa John's rolls out its own boneless chicken product.

Each 10-piece order of Kickers will be served with ranch, blue cheese or hot dipping sauce, and will sell for $5.99 in conjunction with a $9.99 introductory pizza and CinnaStix promotional offer.

Papa John's chicken appetizer is priced at $4.99.

According to a release, Domino's began testing the product last March in a group of franchisee and company-owned test market stores.

National TV and print ads will begin on Sept. 2, followed by radio advertising airing on Monday, Sept. 23.
