BRISBANE, Australia —
Domino's Pizza Enterprises Limited (formerly known as Domino's Pizza Australia and New Zealand) has bolstered its international expansion drive with the purchase of two European pizza chains, Al Capone's and Alvolo on Jan. 1.
According to a news release, Alvolo is an eight-store chain in Belgium, and Al Capone's operates 17 stores in the Netherlands. Both deals were fully funded from debt for an undisclosed price.
The purchases are part of DPE's plans to expand its operations in France, Belgium and the Netherlands, where it bought more than 150 corporate-owned Domino's outlets last year. The franchise group's goal is to have 1,000 units there by 2015.
The majority of Al Capone's and Alvolo outlets are expected to be converted to Domino's Pizza stores over the next six months.
