OLIVE BRANCH, Miss. — Shifflett Enterprises, owned by Domino's Pizza franchisee Jason Shifflett, won a Stevie Award for Best Franchisee in the 2005 American Business Awards last week.
According to a news release, the American Business Awards are the first national, all-encompassing business awards program honoring great performances in the workplace.
Nicknamed the Stevies, the Greek word for "crowned," the awards were presented during ceremonies at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in New York City. More than 100 Stevies were presented in 40-plus categories.
"The real credit goes to my team of more than 200 employees who run our stores everyday with outstanding customer service and smart hustle," said Shifflett. "We are deeply honored to have won the Stevie Award."
At 28, Shifflett owns seven Domino's Pizza stores and is a four-time winner of the Gold Franny Award, an honor given by Domino's to franchisees who exhibit operational excellence.
"Jason Shifflett is an exceptional Domino's Pizza franchisee," said Domino's chairman and chief executive David A. Brandon. "Jason started his career in the pizza business making pizzas for extra money while in high school. After graduating from college, he quickly realized the dream of owning his own business and made the initial investment that eventually changed his life. Now, he is one of our very best franchisees and someone whose formula for success should be emulated."
