ANN ARBOR, Mich. — A nationwide survey conducted on behalf of Domino's Pizza found that of the estimated 55 percent of Americans planning to watch Super Bowl XL, 86 percent say they will eat at halftime and 52 percent will eat pizza.
According to the survey, which queried 1,000 American adults, 78 percent of Super Bowl viewers expect to watch the game at home, either alone or with family, while 15 percent will be at a party as a host (5 percent) or a guest (10 percent). Only 2 percent say they plan to watch the game at a bar or a sports-themed restaurant.
Pizza is the favored Super Bowl food, followed by wings (45 percent), salad (37 percent), subs or heroes (27 percent), pasta (18 percent) and Chinese food (10 percent). Sixty-five percent of Americans 34 years old or younger are most likely to prefer pizza, compared to 47 percent of older Americans.
