Domino's Pizza to enter Germany this year

March 27, 2012

A Scottish Domino's Pizza franchisee plans to bring the ubiquitous chain to Germany for the first time by the end of this year.

According to Startups, Sam Geddes, who operates 11 outlets, will open three Domino's units in Germany this year, beginning in May in Aachen. The second branch is planned for Cologne, and the third location is undetermined.

Geddes said Aachen was chosen because it's near Belgium and the Netherlands, where customers are already familiar with the Domino's brand. Additionally, it's a college town.

Geddes has been operating Domino's franchises since 2001, and also runs Britain's only mobile Domino's division, selling pizza at events. He was awarded the European master franchise in 2010.
