LONDON —
Domino's Pizza Group Ltd. (DPG), the chain's franchisee in the United Kingdom and Ireland, announced the appointment of Andrew Emmerson as its business development director.
According to a news release, Emmerson, 44, brings 20 years of segment knowledge to the role, as well as extensive experience gained in both U.K. and U.S. franchise organizations. Most recently he served as managing director of Millie's Cookies, and he also has worked for Upper Crust, Dunkin' Donuts in the United States, The Tetley Pub Company, Tetley Walker and Allied Breweries.
Emmerson will drive Domino's expansion program by identifying new franchisees and properties needed to deliver 50 new store openings each year. He also will strengthen DPG's focus on developing multiunit franchisees and oversee estates management and construction functions.
"We are very impressed by Andrew's hands-on attitude," said Stephen Hemsley, chief executive of DPG. "He is keen to spend as much time as possible with our franchisees, working with them to develop profitable multiple store operations. He also brings valuable insight into how a retail system can successfully manage its expansion and he knows a great deal about the franchise and property realms."
