Domino's Pizza UK & IRL Plc. is eyeing the German market for growth. According to Reuters, the chain's fledgling German business could potentially double the size of its British operations.
Domino's Pizza opened its first store in Germany earlier this year after completing a master franchise agreement with the founder of Grand City Property Group and Grand City Hotels.
Lance Batchelor, who will take over as CEO of Domino's Pizza UK & IRL Plc. after Christmas, said Germany has the potential to support between 2,000 and 3,000 shops.
"We're absolutely confident that we have got a winner there, that's going to be national and going to be big," he said.
Currently, Domino's has four outlets in Germany. Two more are expected to open by the end of 2011.
The company has more than 700 units in Britain and Ireland, with a target of 1,200 long term.
