Domino's shutters eight Phoenix stores

October 20, 2009

Domino's had expanded quickly in the Phoenix area and is now closing eight of the 25 company-owned locations there, according to azcentral.com

From azcentral:
Domino's vice president Tim McIntyre said the company overbuilt in the Phoenix market and was forced to pull back when growth slowed.

The recession and burst housing bubble have dramatically curtailed the Valley's once-robust growth rate. ‘We grew in anticipation of growth that never came,' he said.

Approximately 25 franchised Domino's locations outside Phoenix proper are not affected by the move, McIntyre said.
