Donatos Pizza has hired Alan Hoover as its new general manager of Jane's Dough Foods, a division of Donatos Pizza. The appointment comes as Jane's Dough Foods continues to grow its operations.
Jane's Dough Foods began three years ago, and has quickly grown into a division with more than 1,400 points of distribution.
Hoover brings 12 years of experience building and growing branded frozen foods, private label products and contract manufacturing. He has joined Donatos' home office in Columbus, Ohio.
"We are excited to have Alan on board, as he reinforces our commitment to growing this part of our business, and provides the leadership necessary to take us to the national level," said Donatos president and CEO Tom Krouse.
Prior to joining Donatos, Hoover served as president and chief operating officer for Kahiki Foods, also located in Columbus. Hoover previously served as vice president of sales and marketing for Pressware International, a food packaging company. He has more than 21 years of experience in the packaging industry, including stints with Sonoco Products and International Paper.
As general manager of Jane's Dough Foods, Hoover will be responsible for sales, marketing and overall operations of the division. The company has a manufacturing facility and bakery in Columbus, which produces restaurant quality products to help its customers sell more pizza.
"Donatos is strongly committed to serving its customers and delighting consumers," Hoover said. "Its founding philosophy, to make the best pizza and to treat others the way they would like to be treated, shows its deep devotion to providing high-quality products every single time."
Hoover received his BS degree in administrative management from Clemson University and earned his MBA in financial management from Benedictine University in Lisle, Ill. He currently serves on the executive committee of the National Frozen & Refrigerated Foods Association as convention chairman.
