Donatos Pizza has inked a development agreement in the Charlotte market, with the franchise partner's first location slated for a late 2026 opening, according to a press release.

This announcement marks Donatos Pizza's second multi-unit franchise group in the Greater Charlotte region, building on the brand's existing presence established by their Fort Mill location. Throughout North Carolina, the brand continues to see strong demand driven by population growth, economic development and increasing interest from franchise partner candidates. In addition to Charlotte, Donatos is actively targeting expansion in several high-priority markets across the state, including Raleigh-Durham, Wilmington, Fayetteville, Greensboro and Asheville, looking to sign 25-plus additional units.

"Charlotte is a key market for our long-term growth in the state, and this agreement is an exciting step forward," Jeff Baldwin, vice president of development and franchising at Donatos Pizza, said in the release. "With an established and growing location already serving the southwest side of the city, we're focused on continuing to partner with entrepreneurs across North Carolina who share our commitment to quality and are passionate about bringing Donatos to their communities."

"As we continue to introduce Donatos to new communities, our focus remains on delivering the quality, consistency, and hospitality that have defined our brand for more than 60 years," Kevin King, CEO and president at Donatos Pizza, said in the release. "We're looking forward to introducing guests in Charlotte and throughout North Carolina to the Donatos difference, starting with pizza that's made Edge to Edge."

Donatos Pizza has more than 179 stores. The brand is also served in nearly 300 non-traditional locations nationwide.
