Donatos to enter Houston market

Donatos Pizza will enter the Houston market, with the first of two to three locations slated to open this summer, according to a press release.

Three franchise groups are focused on developing the area. Multiple locations have already opened in the Dallas/Fort Worth market.

"As an iconic Midwest brand, we're excited to build up a fan following with the help of these Houston groups, and spread our pizzas edge to edge across the state," Jeff Baldwin, VP of development and franchising at Donatos Pizza, said in the release. "We are looking to sign franchise groups and partners to build the early locations throughout the state of Texas and continue to grow these markets."

The brand is seeking to increased its footprint in DFW, Waco and across East Texas, with goals of more than 100 locations opening over the next several years.

"As we continue to grow our presence in Texas, we're excited to announce the first location in Houston," Kevin King, CEO and president at Donatos Pizza, said in the release. "We are looking to add additional locations across DFW and Houston and we look forward to welcoming aspiring Texas entrepreneurs to explore our franchise opportunity. Most importantly, we are excited for customers and the community to experience the difference of our high-quality pizza."

Donatos Pizza operates 179 locations, with its pizza served in nearly 300 non-traditional locations.
