BRISBANE, Aus. — Eagle Boys Pizza has entered the Fiji market with its first store in the capital of Suva.
According to a news release, the chain has several more Fiji sites planned and is considering further offshore opportunities across the Pacific Islands and Asia.
"As the first and only chain pizza outlet to open in the Pacific Islands, Eagle Boys is looking forward to serving the Fijian community and tourists," said Tom Potter, founder and managing director of the chain.
The Suva store is outfitted with Eagle Boys' EagleExpress "instant" pizza service, which guarantees carryout customers can purchase a pizza in 2 minutes (read also Instant pizza system boosting Eagle Boys' sales by 40%, chain claims.)
Unlike most Eagle Boys units, the Fijian unit has a 60-seat dining room for locals opting to eat in.
"The Suva store has a very relaxed family atmosphere and we have provided dine-in facilities to give our customers more options," Potter said. "We believe that with 150-plus stores in Australia, that we still have an active domestic market to develop, but we also believe there are strong offshore opportunities and we intend to vigorously pursue these over the next five years."
"There are at least 12 other opportunities that we are currently investigating in the Pacific region and we're currently seeking operators to open stores in New Caledonia, Vanuatu, New Guinea and the Solomon Islands."
