SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Fast-casual buffet operator Eatza Pizza has awarded an area development agreement to Felix Pinero and Marisela Oller of Port Orange, Fla., for the construction and operation of at least two new restaurants in Puerto Rico.
According to a news release, this is the company's first international effort, and it gives Pinero and Oller exclusive rights to the San Juan area.
The San Juan units will utilize the same prototype operating in the United States, and span between 5,000 to 7,000 square feet.
"Our mission in Puerto Rico will be the same as it is in other markets," said Ron Stilwell, president and chief executive of Eatza Pizza. "Our goal will be to create a mainstream brand image that will resonate with families looking for a quick and enjoyable dining experience at an affordable price."
