Emerald acquires Pizza Expo, Pizza Today

California-based Emerald Expositions LLC has acquired International Pizza Expo and related trade publication Pizza Today from Macfadden Communications Group.

California-based Emerald Expositions LLC has acquired International Pizza Expo and related trade publication Pizza Today from Macfadden Communications Group, the company announced in a press release.

International Pizza Expo is held in Las Vegas from March 23-26. The pizza team is based in Louisville, Kentucky and led by Peter Lachapelle, who will report to Joe Randall, Emerald's executive vice president for design, healthcare, antiques and military, according to the announcement.

"This is Emerald's first trade show acquisition in the food-service industry and we are exceptionally pleased that the International Pizza Expo is such a strong, vibrant and growing show," Randall said in a statement. "We look forward to supporting the team in the continued entrepreneurial building of the business."
