Fast-casual zpizza broadens Texas expansion plans

August 15, 2006

ALEXANDRIA, Va. — zpizza, a fast-casual gourmet pizza chain, announced it signed deals to expand to the Texas cities of San Antonio and Sugar Land. In July it said the chain is coming to Austin as well.

"Customers love our food because we offer fresh, health-conscious ingredients — ingredients that make them feel good about eating pizza again," Chris Bright, zpizza president, said in a news release. "We're excited about our expansion and we look forward to making zpizza a household name throughout Texas in the near future."

The chain said it plans to have 60 locations open nationwide by the end of the year. The first zpizza location scheduled to open in Texas will be in Sugar Land, a suburb of Houston.
