The Associated Press: Most pizza chains wouldn't dream of running their business without a door-to-door delivery service.
But for decades, Figaro's Pizza, founded in Salem, Ore., in 1981, eschewed delivery. It prided itself, instead, on selling unbaked, take-out pizzas for customers to cook in their homes.
Now, the company's new owners have decided to begin delivering pizzas, toppling one of Figaro's founding principles.
"Delivery was one of these big areas where for 23 years this company said no," said Ron Berger, who along with two partners bought the local franchise which had 90 stores nationwide in 2001.
