Mod Pizza has named veteran restaurant leader and nine-year Mod advisory board member Paul Twohig to the new role of chief operating officer, a news release said.
Former Mod Senior Vice President of Operations Chris Schultz moves to the role of International senior vice president overseeing the brand's concerns abroad.
In 40 years of industry experience, Twohig has served as Dunkin' Donuts president, Starbucks senior vice president and Panera Bread executive vice president.
Most recently, Twohig was Dunkin' Donuts president for U.S. and Canada operations, including franchising and store development for Dunkin's 8,500-plus locations in North America. He was also part of the senior executive team that completed Dunkin's IPO in 2011.
Previously, he was at Panera, and prior to that post, spent 14 years at Starbucks.
"Not only will Paul bring world-class experience and expertise to the team as we continue our journey of building the leading fast casual pizza brand in the world, but he will also be a fantastic champion for our culture and mission of using the business as a platform to make a positive social impact," Mod co-founder and CEO Scott Svenson said in the release. "We are also extremely grateful for the leadership Chris Schultz has provided over the past seven years and are excited about the opportunities he will be pursuing to introduce MOD to markets outside the U.S."
Mod currently has more than 235 locations in 23 U.S. states and the U.K.
