Toronto-based fast casual pizza restaurant and pizza subscription service General Assembly Pizza is now listed on the Toronto TSXVenture Exchange under "GA," a news release said.

GA Pizza's premium line of naturally leavened, freezer-to-table pizzas debuted in April 2020, and kick started a rapid transformation that today includes a direct-to-consumer offering (frozen pizza subscription and a pizza-gifting service) and the beginnings of a grocery line, in addition to the restaurant. The chef-made pies include nine varieties frozen pizza, including seven plant-based or meat-free options.

GA Pizza is the first premium frozen pizza brand to go public on the TSX Venture Exchange, a move that follows an oversubscribed Series A funding round completed in February 2021. The company said its direct-to-consumer GA Pizza Club frozen pizza subscription service, launched in September 2020, continues to drive its growth. The pizza-as-a-service play netted GA Pizza over 10,000 subscription orders across Southwestern Ontario in Q1 2021 — representing a 284% increase quarter-over-quarter.

"We're excited and proud to be where we are today," GA Pizza Founder and CEO Ali Khan Lalani said in the release. "Since launching our freezer-to-table line, we've sold over 250,000 frozen pizzas and more than doubled our wholesale footprint to 65-plus retail partners — and we've done it all from within the four walls of our original flagship restaurant in the heart of Toronto."
