Grimaldi's: Fame is your name on a bag of chips

Lay's Potato Chips selected Grimaldi's Pizzeria to build its Kettle Cooked New York Style Pizza chips. The Brooklyn-based chain, which was among five restaurant brands honored through the potato chip flavor series, will receive a $25,000 "Gratitude Fund" from Lay's.

The funds can be put toward relief efforts to help the brand recover from the impact of the pandemic. Grimaldi's serves traditional, coal-fired, brick oven pizza made with century-old Brooklyn pie-making traditions.
Lay's four other restaurant tribute chip flavors honor:

• Lay's Wavy Carnitas Street Taco, inspired by El Torito in Los Angeles.
• Lay's Nashville Hot Chicken, inspired by Party Fowl in Nashville, Tennessee.
• Lay's Philly Cheesesteak, inspired by Geno's Steaks in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
• Lay's Chile Relleno inspired by Cocina Azul in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

To celebrate the notoriety, Grimaldis has asked customers to share photos of themselves with the chips using the hashtag #grimaldispizzeria. That act will get customers $5 off their next dine-in or takeout order at Grimaldi's Pizzeria when the social media post is shown to Grimaldi's staff.

Grimaldi's has 43 stores in 12 U.S. states.
