Grimaldi's Pizzeria joins US fight against childhood hunger

August 28, 2020

Grimaldi's Pizzeria is helping raise funds in September to feed hungry kids at a time when COVID-19 has left one in four kids living in food-insecure homes, compared to one in seven other years, a news release said.

That information comes from the Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry organization, which many restaurant brands partner with to help feed hungry youngsters nationally.

Grimaldi's began its partnership with No Kid Hungry in 2012 and has since raised over $1 million — equivalent to over 10 million meals for the organization — through annual fundraising. This September, Grimaldi's restaurants nationwide will match guest donations to No Kid Hungry with a bounce-back card good on their next visit. Bounce-back cards will be gifted in increments of $5 up to a total of $25 per visit.

"Despite the turbulence and uncertainty that we have all faced over the past several months, I am eager to see our community join together in the fight against childhood hunger again this year. …" Eric Greenwald, Grimaldi's president, said in the release. "Knowing the importance of this year's campaign, it will be even more rewarding to have an impact on the fight against childhood hunger."

Grimaldi's 42 restaurants are open for dine-in and/or patio dining in compliance with federal, state and local guidelines and with strict safety protocols in place. The chain is based in Scottsdale, Arizona.
