Grimaldi's Pizzeria to open 1st franchised units in Alabama

Scottsdale, Arizona-based, Grimaldi's Pizzeria, has signed a multi-unit franchisee agreement with Power Brands Hospitality Group to open its first franchised Grimaldi's location in Huntsville, Alabama later this year, with an additional store opening in Birmingham shortly after that, a news release said. The brand currently has 41 company-owned stores nationally.

"Grimaldi's is well known as a top-quality pizza brand with more than 100 years of pizza-making history, and Power Brands Hospitality Group is the perfect franchisee to bring our New York-style pizza to Alabama," Grimaldi's Pizzeria CEO Joseph Ciolli, said in the release. "Our long-standing reputation for quality food and superior guest experience makes our concept a perfect fit with Power Brands Hospitality Group's experience, knowledge and success in developing a national brand in their core markets."

In addition to domestic franchise expansion, Grimaldi's is growing internationally, with franchisee Tablez Food Company set to open five Grimaldi's restaurants in the United Arab Emirates. The first and second locations are scheduled to open in Abu Dhabi and Dubai later this year.
