Grubhub has joined non-medical home care provider, 24 Hour Home Care, to connect isolated older adults with on-demand food delivery services through the GrubWith24 program, a news release said. Through the joint program, 24 Hour Home Care will offer seniors the ability to order food on Grubhub without using a smartphone or visiting Grubhub's online site.
Food delivery options can be vital for many seniors, who are generally at higher risk of contracting COVID-19 and have been advised to stay at home to cut their risk of contracting the virus. GrubWith24 brings a service to many seniors who don't or can't use online marketplaces or smartphones to deliver meals.
"This will greatly help at-risk individuals practice social distancing and skip a potentially dangerous visit to a crowded grocery store," said Andy Matthews, vice president of Business Development at 24 Hour Home Care, in the release.
"We are very excited to partner with Grubhub, as they will enable us to help those in every community we serve by offering our community a variety of high-quality food delivery options at a competitive price."
GrubWith24 is offered to all clients and community partners of the home-care service, but those interested in meal delivery through GrubWith24 can call 24 Hour Home Care directly to get the service, without having either a Grubhub account or smartphone. Orders through the home-care providers during the pandemic are being discounted and have the option to be delivered without contact.
