Gusto Farm to Street, a fast casual restaurant specializing in salads and fast-fired pizzas, has named Meg Schiffman as its VP of brand and marketing, according to a company press release.
Schiffman, who has more than 15 years of branding and marketing experience, most recently led marketing at Cava, a fast casual brand with Washington D.C. roots. She's also led the Mid-Atlantic region for Glaceau Vitaminwater, ultimately purchased by Coca Cola, then led field marketing at Muscle Milk, where she helped launched the brand's women's protein shake, Evolve. Prior to Cava, Schiffman helped manage 80% of Honest Tea's brand portfolio, including the Honest Kids line.
"Josh (Grim, CEO and founder) and the Gusto team have done an incredible job crafting a menu that is both healthful and truly cravable," Schiffman said in the release. "The opportunity to be a foundational part of building a world-class brand is a challenge I can't wait to take on alongside the rest of the Gusto family."
Schiffman will work with Nichole Latiolais, the chain's director of marketing, who joined Gusto in 2017, from Le Pain Quotidien and Jason's Deli.
Grim also recently hired Joi Green and Nina Stapleton as Gusto's regional sales and marketing coordinator, respectively. Green came to Gusto after building and expanding sales for Live Nation, and Stapleton came to Gusto after building sales and repeat business with Cardinal Travel.
"We are setting ourselves up for success, not only by establishing a strong financial backing, but also adding a team of experienced brand and marketing professionals to our already successful Gusto family," Grim said in the release.
Gusto has three locations in Montgomery County, Maryland, one in Fairfax County, Virginia, and one each in Charlotte, and Raleigh, North Carolina. It will open a second unit by year's end in Raleigh and in 2020, will add two locations in Charlotte and two in Virginia.
