Happy Joe's signs five-unit Caféz agreement

BETTENDORF, Iowa—Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream signed its first multi-store development agreement for its new Happy Joe's Caféz concept.

According to a news release, the mother-and-son team of Cathy and Tim Gantz will open five new Happy Joe's Caféz locations in Madison, Wis. The first is expected to open this year.

Happy Joe's Cafez differ from traditional Happy Joe's units in that they offer a breakfast menu including breakfast pizzas, Caféz Scramblers, freshly baked cinnamon or caramel nut rolls and freshly brewed coffee available for dine-in or delivery. Caféz also sell a variety of hot Panini, freshly made salads, upgraded bottled beers and wines and a variety of ice cream.

The new Madison Happy Joe's Caféz locations will feature a kid's viewing window into the kitchen, a fun center, party corrals, enhanced dining rooms and outdoor patios. The Caféz concept is targeted to the 24-to-64 year-old demographic and their children or grandchildren.
