RICHMOND, BC -- Boston Pizza franchisees, employees helped raise a record $130,000 for the Heart and Stroke Foundation during the company's annual Valentine's Day promotion.
The campaign, launched by the company in 1993, included all of Boston Pizza's 140-plus Canadian stores. Each store donated $1 from every heart-shaped pizza sold on Feb. 14 plus funds from the sale of paper hearts to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
"Reaching a record $130,000 is extremely gratifying for our entire company," said Boston Pizza president and COO Mike Cordoba.
The mission of the Heart and Stroke Foundation is to improve the health of Canadians by preventing and reducing disability and death from heart disease and stroke.
