Hungry Howie's Pizza will open the doors to its Big Rapids, Michigan store tomorrow, with a special $6.99 large one-topping pizza offering and the donation of 10% of the day's sales to the Brookside Elementary School. On Thursday, the brand will also donate 10% of sales to nearby Riverview Elementary, according to a press release.
The store is operated by longtime Hungry Howie's franchisee, Robert Leger, who graduated from the city's Ferris College in 1984. Since then, he's opened more than 65 Hungry Howie locations throughout Michigan, Ohio, North Carolina, and Florida.
"I've had the honor of being a Hungry Howie's franchisee for over 30 years but opening a store in Big Rapids, on my (former) college campus, has been a goal and a dream of mine for many years," said Leger in the release. "My time at Ferris seems like a lifetime ago, but I learned so much from my professors and educators, and had so many great life experiences that helped to make me who I am today. I will always cherish my time as a Bulldog and continue to do my best to support the city of Big Rapids. It begins with bringing flavored crust pizza to the students and faculty."
The South State Street store is one of nearly 550 Hungry Howie's locations in 20 U.S. states.
