Innovative partnership leads to opening of California Mountain Mike's store

Mountain Mike's Pizza has opened a store in Davis, California, thanks to a veteran franchisee, who partnered with two of his former restaurant managers to own the location, a news release said.
The franchise group, Mann and Kumar Pizza Inc., includes Gurjeet Mann, Hanish Kumar and Sumeet Benipal. Mann is a longtime Mountain Mike's franchisee with eight locations throughout California. Kumar and Benipal previously worked with Mann as restaurant managers.
"We're ready and eager to show our new Davis guests why Mountain Mike's has been a household name in Northern California for more than 40 years," Mann said in the release. "Opening this location alongside two of my former employees has been very special, and we're looking forward to becoming the Davis community's new go-to pizza spot for many years to come."
The West Covell Boulevard store in Davis is open for lunch, dinner and beyond seven days a week.
The Newport Beach, California-based brand has more than 200 locations across California, Oregon and Utah.
