Italians aim for world record pizza

NAPLES, Italy — Neapolitan pizza makers hope to break into in the Guinness World Records book later this month when they attempt to make the world's largest pizza.

According to a news release, the pizza Margherita will have a diameter of 6 meters (19.685 feet).

The oven to cook the giant pie is being built in the City of Science structure in Bagonoli, site of the PizzaWorld contest set for Sept. 27-28.
