JC's Coal Oven Pizza Co. has opened in the Toscana, Indiana, spot formerly held by another pizzeria, according to a South Bend Tribute report.
The news outlet says Jessie Oñate is the new owner of the location after Tony Sacco's Coal Oven Kitchen closed last year.
The pizzeria has been updated to include new paint, a new audio systems, new televisions and refurbished bathrooms. The coal-fired oven remains.
Several employees of the former pizzeria are now on staff at JC's. Though the restaurant opened in September, it's still in a soft-opening phase.
"We're starting slow because we want get it right," Oñate told the news outlet. "That's the most important thing for us."
