Jerry of Jerry's Subs & Pizza has been re-created in wax for display at Madame Tussauds in Washington, D.C. The wax figure honoring the metropolitan entrepreneur will be unveiled Dec. 7.
Jerry's Subs and Pizza has been in business since 1954 and is notable for its signature radio commercials ending with Jerry’s trademark "hello." What Jerry is most famous for, however, is his reclusiveness and camera-shyness. His television commercials featured Jerry with his back to the camera.
In addition to launching the wax figure of Jerry, Madame Tussauds and Jerry's Subs & Pizza are teaming up to cross-promote their brands at each other's locations with special discount offers.
Jerry's Subs & Pizza has developed a reputation as the premier franchise for "World Famous Cheesesteaks" and "Authentic New York Style Pizza." The company has 100 locations throughout Maryland; Virginia; Pennsylvania; Washington, D.C.; Delaware and West Virginia.
