Jet's Pizza is taking some of the favorite things about Italian hero sandwiches and converting them into pizza for the brand's latest LTO. The Italian Hero specialty pie is featured at the chain this May and June, and features mozzarella, salami, ham, tomatoes and mild peppers, with a side of Italian dressing to drizzle on top, a news release said.

The offering is available in small and large Detroit-style deep-dish and hand-tossed round pies when customers use the the code "HERO" when placing their orders.

"Inspired by one of our most popular Jet's subs, we introduced our favorite Italian toppings to our Detroit-style pizza and in my opinion, created a real hero to possibly join our specialty lineup," Jet's America President John Jetts, said in the release. "These limited time offers are a great way to introduce new flavor combinations and get a feel for what our customers would like to see added to the permanent menu."

Jet's Pizza, based in Sterling Heights, Michigan was founded as Jetts Party Shoppe and Pizzeria in 1978 by brothers, John and Eugene Jetts. Jet's has now grown to more than 380 stores in 19 states.
