Old Chicago  Pizza & Taproom opened a North Kansas City Wednesday on Diamond Parkway with free pizza for a year given to the first 100 customers yesterday. KMG Hospitality owners Jay and Sanjay Koshiya are also donating proceeds from a number of opening events over the next few weeks to First Hand Foundation, a news release said.

"Kansas City is full of opportunity, so we are thrilled to continue expansion in the area," Old Chicago operating company CraftWorks Holdings Global Franchise Development President Mark Belanger said in the release. "Jay and Sanjay are great partners and franchisees. We are lucky to have them on our team."

Until Feb. 9, the location will give $1 from every Chicago 7 Pizza sold and 10% of every code-using online to-go order to the First Hand Foundation. The brand offers five dough options including chicago thick, tavern thin, bottoms-up deep dish, gluten-free, and an ale-infused, as well as 36 craft beers on tap and more than 100 craft beers available on the menu.

Old Chicago has more than 100 stores in 24 states.
