Kotipizza Group develops international fast casual pizza concept, enters burger market

Kotipizza Group has developed a fast casual concept, No Pizza — There's no pizza like No Pizza, aimed at international markets. The first unit will open next year, but Kotipizza plans to expand the concept into a restaurant chain using a master franchising collaboration model, Kotipizza Group CEO Tommi Tervanen, said in a company press release.

"In developing No Pizza, we have benefited from our experiences in driving the Kotipizza chain, as well as our study of the Nordic markets and consumer trends" he said. "The innovative No Pizza concept differs significantly from other fast casual restaurants operating in Nordic countries, in terms of both the product and customer experience. We believe that in collaboration with the right master franchising partner, it is possible to build the concept into a successful franchising chain. For example, in Sweden, there are currently virtually no nationwide pizza restaurant chains."

The pizza is made from sourdough and uses only responsibly sourced and fresh ingredients. It also has a distinct visual image and customer experience, Tervanen said, adding that N2 Marketing Oy developed the branding, and Futudesign Oy is responsible for the interior design.

Getting into burgers
Kotipizza Group in November acquired a 51 percent stake in Day After Day Oy operating the Social Food Street Burgerjoint with the intention of expanding Social Burger into a nationwide burger restaurant chain. In the upcoming financial year, the group plans to invest approximately 1 million euros in total in the development of the new concepts, according to the press release.
