Toledo, Ohio-based Marco's Pizza announced the company is exceeding expansion goals for 2014, with 131 locations added this year.

The company's 500th store opened in June. Marco's celebrated its 565th opening soon after and is now gearing up for its goal of opening 1,000 stores by then end of 2016. Growth is exceeding company projections by 40 percent.

Marco's doubled in size over the last three years and launched 109 stores in 2013. The key to its growth is "repeat business," the company said.
