TOLEDO, Ohio — Marco's Pizza announced an agreement with Toledo businessman Tom M. Herman to open 30 stores in Arizona's Maricopa County, home also to the city of Phoenix.
According to a news release, the first Phoenix unit will open in July, followed by two others before the end of the year.
"We are extremely excited to attract a franchisee of the caliber of Tom Herman," said Jack Butorac, president of Marco's Franchising, the development arm of the 127-unit chain. "Last year we expanded to Las Vegas, and Phoenix represents our largest agreement plan since we announced that we will double the current number of Marco's stores."
In a related announcement, Marco's awarded an exclusive pizza box contract to Pro-Pak Industries, Inc., in Maumee, Ohio. The company will provide Marco's four-color, corrugated pizza boxes to its stores located in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Nevada.
