Marco's Pizza is developing an Operations Center of Excellence in downtown Orlando, a strategic expansion designed to support the chain's growth as it targets more than 80 new store openings this year, according to a press release.

The approximately 14,030-square-foot facility at 222 S. Orange Ave. represents a more than $1 million investment. Serving as an extension of the company's Toledo, Ohio, headquarters, the center will function as a corporate office, training destination and operational hub. It will feature a fully equipped training kitchen built to replicate a real Marco's Pizza store kitchen to provide immersive training for operators and franchisees.

The center will house about 50 corporate team members and host global franchisees for onboarding, education and collaboration. The facility will host discovery days for prospective franchisees, serve as the home of Marco's University and bring together corporate leadership, franchisees and supply chain partners.

The Orlando Economic Partnership assisted the pizza brand with local incentive opportunities, expedited permitting, public relations and regional networking connections.

"Orlando continues to attract innovative companies that are investing in our downtown and creating new opportunities for residents," Buddy Dyer, Orlando mayor, said in the press release. "Marco's Pizza's Operations Center of Excellence will not only strengthen their global franchise network but also contribute to the energy and economic momentum of our urban core. We're excited to welcome this investment to the heart of the City Beautiful."

Tim Giuliani, president and CEO of the Orlando Economic Partnership, noted the regional benefits of the expansion.

"This investment further reinforces Orlando's position as a strategic hub for high-growth companies looking to scale operations and talent," Giuliani said. "Marco's Pizza's decision to establish its Operations Center of Excellence downtown speaks to the region's business climate, skilled workforce and connectivity. We are proud to partner in supporting their continued expansion and the opportunities this brings to our community."

Company leadership emphasized that the new performance engine is built to equip operators with the training and support required to optimize store-level performance.

"This investment reflects the intentional way we scale our business," John Meyers, COO of Marco's Pizza, added in the press release. "We are building the systems, environments and capabilities that allow our franchisees not only to grow, but to operate with precision, consistency, and confidence."

Construction is underway on the facility, which is expected to open in fall 2026.

Marco's Pizza has more than 1,200 stores in 35 states with locations in Puerto Rico, the Bahamas and Mexico.
