Marco's reaches half-year expansion milestone

TOLEDO, Ohio -- Marco's Pizza has announced it has opened 20 stores since the beginning of the year, putting it at the halfway mark of its goal of opening 40 locations in 2009.
"In an economic climate where some restaurant companies aren't opening stores at all, Marco's Pizza is fortunate and proud of its growth," said CEO Jack Butorac. "Our truly high-quality pizza and 11 consecutive quarters of positive same-store sales growth are helping to drive expansion."
So far this year, Marco's has opened new stores in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Michigan, Ohio, Texas and Virginia. California, Colorado, Texas and Virginia, representing new states of operation for the company as well.
