Tulsa, Okla.-based Mazzio's Italian Eatery has opened its first East Coast location in Alexandria, Va.
The 155-unit concept features "create your own" pizza, as well as pasta, salad, sandwich and dessert options.
The new restaurant is operated by franchise owners Raj and Alka Ghandi. The restaurant is an end-cap location in a new shopping center at the intersection of Kings Highway and Richmond Highway. The interior features booths and banquette seating, as well as family-themed artwork.
"We were looking to provide a new food experience to this area and really liked the Mazzio's concept," said Raj. "Mazzio's is a strong company with great food at a great price."
To cater to the tastes of East Coast diners, Mazzio's has redesigned its menu for the Alexandria location.

Mazzio's Alexandria restaurant will be open for dine-in or carry out, with store hours from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily. A pizza and salad bar buffet will be available Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesday night from 5-8 p.m. The lunch buffet is $7.99 and dinner buffet is $8.99.
