Mellow Mushroom expands Florida footprint

Mellow Mushroom Pizza Bakers announced the opening of its first location in Sanford, Florida, at 1831 Rinehart Road.

Headed by franchisees Ron and Jill Brown, the location features custom art showcases designed to create a "casual ambiance with a dressy meets urban grit attitude," the announcement said. Based on the owners’ favorite artists, lyrics and quotes, the location's art references the classic days of rock ‘n’ roll with a graffiti style Jimi Hendrix painting, an homage to Miss American Pie at the To Go station and tributes to John Lennon and in his Statue of Liberty pose and a Jerry Garcia denim tapestry in a 3-D LED lit frame.

A rock ‘n’ roll-themed chandelier features multi-colored LED lights coming out of different musical instruments such as guitars, saxophones, drums and tambourines. The full service bar features craft beers, a wine list and cocktails. A stage set up for live bands contains the company's first video wall, with nine screens designed to provide up to nine independent programs.
