LOS ANGELES — A 6.6 percent increase in second quarter comparable-store sales at California Pizza Kitchen was largely the product of a menu price increase.
According to a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, customer counts also rose slightly during the period ended June 27, 2004.
Also during the quarter, CPK said its cost of sales as a percentage of restaurant sales rose 2.3 percent ($7.8 million) due primarily to higher cheese and chicken prices.
