January 12, 2004

HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.—Chicago Pizza & Brewery reported its comparable-restaurant sales at BJ's restaurants increased approximately 3.3 percent for the year ended Dec. 28, 2003.

According to a Securities and Exchange Commission filing, some of the increase came from two menu price increases during the year: approximately 1.5 percent in May; and approximately 2 percent in November.

For its fourth quarter, ended Dec. 28, comparable-restaurant sales rose approximately 5.1 percent, versus a 3.3 percent gain in the same period a year ago.

For the year, revenues increased approximately 36 percent to $103 million, versus $75.7 million in 2002.
