Menin Hospitality, which owns hotel and restaurant chains, including Pizza Bar restaurants in Miami Beach, is embracing cryptocurrency as a form of payment via Bitpay. The bitcoin payment processor accepts Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Dogecoin and four USD-pegged stablecoins — GUSD, USDC, PAX and BUSD.
"The process is set up to enable customers to scan a QR code and pay directly through the Bitpay App," Jared Galbutt, managing partner of Menin Hospitality, said in a company press release. "As our hotel and restaurant brands continue to grow and evolve, it's important for us to offer added conveniences for our tech-savvy guests and customers."
Miami-based Menin isn't the first restaurant company to embrace bitcoin. New Jersey-based Muscle Maker Inc., the parent company of Muscle Maker Grill, Healthy Joe's, MMG Burger Bar and Superfit Foods, began accepting it in April.
"Today's digital world continues to grow exponentially," CEO Michael Roper said in a company press release. "The acceptance of bitcoin is a natural progression for companies looking to stay relevant."
