Mitchell promoted to VP of domestic ops at Papa John's Pizza

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Papa John's International promoted Bill Mitchell to the position of senior vice president of domestic operations. He most recently served as Papa John's division vice president for the Midwest, the company's largest division, overseeing operations for 140 company-owned and nearly 600 franchised units.
 
According to a news release, Mitchell will report to Bill Van Epps, Papa John's president, USA, and oversee all aspects of the company's domestic operations, currently comprising 500-plus company-owned and 2,100 franchised Papa John's restaurants.
 
Mitchell has more than 16 years experience in restaurant operations, including seven years at Papa John's. From 1996 to 2000, Mitchell was with AFC Enterprises Inc., serving in various operations roles including vice president of operations. Mitchell also served as director of franchise operations for Popeye's, where he oversaw operations for 1,400 franchised units.
 
He also worked for RTM Restaurant Group overseeing its Mrs. Winner's operations in the Georgia region, and he held training and operations positions with Kentucky Fried Chicken.
 
"We are very excited to have Bill lead our domestic operations," said Van Epps. "His experience and credibility within the Papa John's system, as well as other restaurant brands, will serve our system well."
