Mountain Mike’s Pizza expanding in Texas

Mountain Mike's Pizza has signed two multi-unit expansion deals in Texas. They are for three units each.

The brand now has nine Dallas area locations in development, according to a press release.

The California-based family style chain, which just celebrated the opening of its 250th store, expects its first two locations from the deals to open this year.

Steve Zeigler, a multi-unit Jersey Mike's franchisee, will bring three restaurants to the region, as will brothers Robby and Varinder Basati. Robby Basati is Mountain Mike's largest franchisee in California.

Last year was the best sales year ever for the franchise as it hit past $250 million in total system sales. During the year, the company opened 18 restaurants and signed franchise agreements for 60-plus restaurants, which are all in various stages of development. By the end of 2022, the brand expects to open a total of 30 restaurants as it continues toward its mid-term goal of 400-plus locations by the end of 2025.
